How image & video
metadata cleaning works.

Two cleaning methods. One local workflow. Understand image re-exporting, video metadata clearing and what each result means.

One local workflow for images and videos

Choose files in the AI label remover and process them on your device. Images and supported videos use different cleaning methods, each with a clear scope.

How image metadata cleaning works

Your browser decodes a JPG, PNG or WebP image, draws it to a canvas and encodes a new image. Original EXIF, XMP, IPTC, text and application blocks are not copied into the new export. A browser encoder can still add basic technical information. Quality, transparency and color can change, so review the result.

How video metadata cleaning works

The video AI label remover reads supported MP4, MOV and M4V container structures locally. It clears recognized descriptive metadata and known XMP/provenance blocks, supported creation and modification timestamps and track descriptions. Cleared data is replaced with empty space of the same size so file offsets remain valid.

It preserves encoded audio and video, timing, dimensions and rotation without re-encoding. It does not compress or convert video. Technical playback metadata, unknown private data, extra tracks and metadata inside encoded streams can remain. Encrypted, malformed and unsupported containers are rejected.

Check the result before sharing

Use the check-metadata button after cleaning to open the exported file automatically in the image and video metadata inspector. The transfer uses this browser’s temporary local database, not a server upload. Keep your original and check playback or image quality before using the download.

Why a platform may still show an AI label

A platform can use signals beyond file metadata and applies its own disclosure rules. This cleaner cannot guarantee that an AI label will disappear on Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube or another service. It also does not erase visible marks or invisible signals in media content.

Keep the records you need

Only edit files you have permission to use. Metadata may contain attribution, rights or provenance details that you need to preserve separately. A metadata scan is not a verdict on whether a file was AI-generated.
